Arlene is an actor, educator and sometimes writer with over 10 years’ experience in television, film and the stage. Most recently in film the feature What it Was (lead) played at the Urban World Film Festival and is currently streaming on Amazon. In theater, she was recently seen in Mourning Sun (West End Theater). Arlene has done considerable work on original productions. This involvement ranges from being the first person to breathe words into a character to being a co-creator and producer. Her collaborative work includes the award winning Skype Duet– an internet based interactive and international performance piece.

As an educator, Arlene works with several New York City based organizations, including Dreamyard and Girl Be Heard, teaching performance and devised work. She believes that every individual’s story deserves to be heard, and in mining for that story; in participating in a movement that grants tools for people to find a part of themselves, to grow, to learn. She believes it is extraordinarily important for people to find their voice; and to be given the tools to consistently look for and discover it.
