Claire is thrilled to join Opening Act! She began her teaching career as a TA with Lookingglass Theatre in Chicago Public School, and as her time at as a camp counselor. She has taught as a TA at the University of Washington, Seattle. Daughter of a poet/professor and dancer, Claire is a performer, writer, dancer and artist teacher, Deeply Influenced by being a bi-racial woman having lived in North Carolina, Connecticut, Nebraska, Ohio, Chicago and Brooklyn, Claire writes about race, politics, love and the pursuit American Dream, or as James Baldwin wrote: “The Price You Pay for the Ticket.” Acting credits include: A Christmas Carol (NYTimes Critics Pick w/ Blessed Unrest), NY Classical Theatre, NYTW, New Victory LabWorks, New Dramatists, The Bushwick Starr, The National Black Theatre, The New Ohio, TDF’s Performeteria, Project: Theatre. Regional: (Juliet) Romeo and Juliet, (Indiana Repertory Theatre), (Talidia) Brooklyn Bridge (Seattle Children’s Theatre), Seattle Rep, Intiman, JAG Fest, The Goodman Theatre, The Greenhouse Theatre. Upcoming Productions include: The Making of King Kong Dec 2018 at the Target Margin Theatre. She is in pre-production for her web-series Dear Sister, which she is writing, producing and starring in with her sister, Shelley.
