Juliany Taveras is a playwright, poet, and photographer from the boroughs of NYC who works at the intersections of art and social justice. Their playwriting has been nationally recognized (The Kilroys List 2016) and their poetry has appeared in La Galería Magazine (forthcoming: Reflections on the Burden of Men).
Juliany received a BA in Media Studies and Creative Writing from Vassar College, and is currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at the St. Joseph’s College Writer’s Foundry. They believe strongly in the power of storytelling to build empathy and community, and aim to continue developing work that navigates bodies in diaspora.
