Rachael grew up in a small town in the Midwest where her family taught her to work hard, have fun, and be kind. As a child, if Rachael wasn’t putting on a play or singing show tunes, she was helping with the countless fundraisers (or “fun-raisers” as she thought they were called) her mom organized for the Missouri non-profit where she worked. Rachael loved theater, and she also loved giving back to her community, but she never thought she would have a job where those two worlds came together. When Rachael moved to NYC after earning a degree in Theater Performance at the University of Missouri Kansas City, she had the chance to volunteer for Opening Act, and she was inspired to get more involved with this awesome organization. Rachael continued volunteering for Opening Act for several years while working for another local, arts education non-profit. Now, Rachael is thrilled to be Opening Act’s Executive Assistant, and she plans to work hard every day to deepen the organization’s impact and continue to reach even more students. Rachael lives in Manhattan with her super cool husband and serves on the Young Professionals Committee of Kids Creative.
