Elizabeth Buckley Lewis

Elizabeth Buckley Lewis is Counsel in the Tax and Private Clients Departments of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. She advises family offices and not-for-profit organizations, focusing on both programmatic and asset management issues.  Prior to starting at Willkie in 2006, Elizabeth was a Resident Counsel at the Ford Foundation for seven years. She began her legal career at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and is a member of the Government Relations Committee of the Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York, Inc. She is also a Board member of the following organizations in addition to Opening Act: the New American Economy Action Fund, a 501(c)(4) organization that focuses on immigration policy issues; the Joseph Collins Foundation, a private foundation that provides scholarships to medical students; and the International Bar Association Foundation.  She is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School where she was very involved with the Prison Legal Assistance Project.
