We’re so excited for our amazing summer plans! This week 22 of our students have joined forces to participate in Opening Act’s free, 3-week Summer Theater Arts and Leadership Conservatory.
We also wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible year we had #connectingthedots between students, alums, and our community (i.e. YOU!). Thank you for helping us grow our impact beyond our wildest dreams.
This year we brought our free, year-long after school programming to 50 high schools throughout Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Manhattan. Through theater, students gained a solid foundation in problem solving, teamwork, and leadership – all skills that will help them succeed in any path they choose to pursue after high school.
100% of graduating seniors from our Act 2 College and Career Readiness Program are heading off to college this fall!
Our District 79 expansion provided meaningful opportunities for young people who are formerly incarcerated, homeless, and/or teen parents to build community, trust, and joy at their schools.
An incredibly successful #POWEROF10 campaign, raising over $120k in 10 days through our amazing Team Leaders, helped our students #DREAMBIG #DOBIG #BEBIG!
Our 12th Annual Benefit Play Reading, #HEARMEHERE, gave students the opportunity to speak their truth and shine on stage alongside our dreamy cast in world premieres!
A night of fun and prizes at our Social Board’s THE SOCIAL supported the future of Opening Act programming!
It has been a #BIG #AMAZING #YEAR. As we continue to grow, we value each of YOUfor cheering our students on and being an integral part of our community.
