Simon Salinas Jr. is a New York-based theatre maker, passionate about creating through acting, directing, devising, and playwriting. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance with an emphasis in Performance Process from the University of Texas at Austin. Simon’s creative journey has taken him from Austin, Texas, where he acted in productions like “TINY FINGERPRINTS” (UTNT, 2022) and “In Sisters We Trust/My F*cked Up American Girl Doll Play” (Texas Theatre, 2023), to the prestigious Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center in Connecticut, where he completed the National Theatre Institute’s Theatremakers Playwriting Intensive. As a teaching artist, Simon has developed and delivered creative writing and theatre workshops for youth, fostering artistic expression and growth. He has worked with diverse communities, including English language learners and those facing challenging circumstances, using theatre as a tool for empowerment and storytelling. Currently, Simon is a proud Miranda Family Fellow, continuing to expand his artistic horizons while making meaningful contributions to the vibrant New York theatre scene.
