“Opening Act gave me a voice.”

Franky | Opening Act Student (Bronx)

Opening Act’s year-long theater programs at 36 public high schools culminated at YESfest, a FREE week-long festival of original work at New York Live Arts in May 2016. These student-created and performed plays took on topics ranging from slut shaming to police brutality, conflicted communities, the resiliency of women, and the supernatural – and were the absolute highlight of our year!

Congratulations to our AMAZING students and teaching artists! Check out photos on Facebook and watch all 15 original student plays on our Vimeo page!

Special thanks goes out to our Adopt a School sponsors who make it all happen year after year. We are so very grateful.
