ARTISTIC ADVISORY BOARD

Michael Mastro is incredibly proud to be a member of the Artistic Advisory Board at Opening Act, for which he has directed many NYC celebrity Benefit Play Readings in the last several years.

As an actor, Michael most recently completed a run in Ayckbourn’s The Things We Do For Love at Westport Country Playhouse.  Broadway: West Side Story; Twelve Angry Men; Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (2003); Mamma Mia!; Judgement at NurembergSide ManBarrymore (with Christopher Plummer); Love! Valour! Compassion!  Off-Broadway: Volpone (Red Bull); Any Given Monday (59E59/Act Two) and many others. Regionally, he has performed in everything from Neil Simon to Shakespeare at theatres including Shakespeare Theatre DC, Westport Country Playhouse, Dallas Theater Center, George Street Playhouse, Delaware Theatre Company, Paper Mill, Old Globe, North Shore Music Theatre, Penguin Rep, Williamstown and more. Film: Kissing Jessica Stein, The Night We Never Met, Jungle 2 Jungle.  TV:  Law and Order: SVU (currently recurring), Nurse Jackie, Magic City, Alias, Hack, Cosby.

In January 2015, he directed a production of Nora (Ingmar Bergman’s take on Ibsen’s A Doll House) at Delaware Theatre Company, where he is also currently serving as Associate Artistic Director.  Other directorial credits include: The Fabulous Lipitones and The Subject Was Roses, both at George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, NJ.  In NYC he’s directed numerous one-acts with various theatre companies, as well as readings of new pieces for the theatre.

He is a grateful member of SDC, Actors Equity, SAG-AFTRA, The Actors Center, and Naked Angels.
